9.19.2 Configuring Login Behavior<br />

To configure login behavior:<br />
1 Start the <strong>TIBCO</strong> <strong>Spotfire</strong> Configuration Console.<br />
2 Go to the Login Behavior tab.<br />
3 Click the Edit button on the toolbar.<br />
Comment: You will be prompted to stop the entire cluster.<br />
Response: The Client Behavior fields will become editable.<br />
4 Set Login dialog display behavior.<br />
• Always (show dialog even if user has chosen Save my login information)<br />
• Never (never show dialog)<br />
• Standard (only show dialog if user has not chosen Save my login information)<br />
5 Set Allow Work offline.<br />
• Yes - users can work offline if they like.<br />
• No - users must always be logged in to the <strong>TIBCO</strong> <strong>Spotfire</strong> <strong>Server</strong> to run <strong>TIBCO</strong><br />
<strong>Spotfire</strong>.<br />
6 Set Allow Save my login information.<br />
• Yes - users can select to store the login information for future automatic login.<br />
• No - users must always provide user name and password when logging in.<br />
7 Set Work offline limit.<br />
• Do Not Set Limit - the users can select to Work Offline and will never be forced<br />
to connect to the <strong>TIBCO</strong> <strong>Spotfire</strong> <strong>Server</strong>.<br />
• Set days client can operate without connecting to server - users can select to<br />
Work Offline but will be prompted and forced to log in after # number of days.<br />
8 Click the Done button on the toolbar.<br />
9 Click Start Cluster on the toolbar to restart the cluster.<br />
9.19.3 Configuring RSS Feed<br />
It is possible to configure the <strong>TIBCO</strong> <strong>Spotfire</strong> <strong>Server</strong> to show messages in the login<br />
dialog for the end users. For example, news of upcoming scheduled maintenance of<br />
the <strong>TIBCO</strong> <strong>Spotfire</strong> <strong>Server</strong> could be shown.<br />
One option is to specify a path to an rss.xml file located on an <strong>TIBCO</strong> <strong>Spotfire</strong> <strong>Server</strong>,<br />
which you can update manually with news. Another is to specify the URL to an<br />
<strong>TIBCO</strong> <strong>Spotfire</strong>® <strong>Server</strong> <strong>3.2.2</strong> 123 (144)
