12 Uninstall
12.1 Server Software Uninstall
For uninstall purposes, an uninstall application is created automatically upon
installation. This application is found in the directory
/installer/uninstaller> and is called Uninstall TIBCO
Spotfire Server 3.2.2.exe or Uninstall TIBCO Spotfire Server 3.2.2.bin. Run this
application and follow the directions.
On Solaris, Red Hat, and SUSE systems, you must also remove the startup script
/etc/init.d/tss manually (if you have installed it).
Note: In Windows, it is also possible to start the uninstall application using “Programs
and Features” found in the Control Panel.
If you have placed any additional files in the installation directory or any of its
subfolders, such as Spotfire Library export files, you should move these files to a
secure location before uninstalling.
If you have performed a restore from a backup of the Spotfire Server using the
instructions in the section “Technical Reference” on page 131, there is no Uninstall
application in place. To uninstall Spotfire Server manually, first remove the Windows
Service, if present, by running the bat file
/tomcat/bin/service.bat remove
Then remove the installation directory. On Solaris, Red Hat, and SUSE systems, you
must also remove the startup script /etc/init.d/tss manually (if you have installed
it).
12.2 Database Removal
In the scripts/oracle_install/utilities and scripts/mssql_install/utilities folders on the
Spotfire Server installation media, there are a number of scripts that can be used to
remove the Spotfire and Demo databases:
Microsoft SQL Server
• drop_databases.bat. Use this if you are using database authentication with your
Microsoft SQL server.
• drop_databases_ia.bat. Use this if you are using Windows Integrated
Authentication with your Microsoft SQL Server.
Oracle
• drop.databases.bat. Use this if your are running Oracle on a Windows server.
• drop_databases.sh. Use this if you are running Oracle on a Unix server.
