Create successful ePaper yourself

Turn your PDF publications into a flip-book with our unique Google optimized e-Paper software.

Configure the System
1 In the configuration console, click on the tab User Directory.
2 Click the Edit button.
3 If prompted to stop all servers, select to do so.
4 Select the user directory back-end you wish to use from the User directory back-end
drop-down menu.
5 Depending on your choice you will be presented with a number of additional
parameters that you must specify.
For more details on these parameters, please see the configuration console online help
by clicking on the question mark icon in the top right corner.
6 Click the Done button when you are finished.
Note that the settings made here do not include moving users between groups or
creating new groups, only from where to fetch user directory information, whether it
be from the Spotfire database or from an external source.
5.8 Add Server to Cluster
In order for users to be able to use Spotfire, you need to add at least one Spotfire
Server to the cluster you set up on first login to the configuration console.
In the configuration console, click on the tab “Cluster Servers” to add servers to your
cluster. Then click on the green + sign in the list of servers and you will be prompted
to specify:
• Server protocol (http or https)
• Server hostname or IP address
• Spotfire Controller port (default 8078)
• Spotfire Server port (default 80)
Make sure to select either HTTP or HTTPS in the dropdown menu, according to what
protocol you have set up the Spotfire Controllers to use. (Do not type http or https into
the text field for server hostname, only type the actual hostname or IP address).
You will also be prompted about uploading a database.xml file to the server. This is the
server configuration file in which the database connection URL is stored.
Note: If you select to not upload this file, you will have to copy it manually to the
/tomcat/webapps/META-INF directory on the server before
you can start the server.
