Installing <strong>Spotfire</strong> <strong>Server</strong> 3.2<br />

that is running <strong>Spotfire</strong> <strong>Server</strong>, you must install them at the same time. If you want to<br />

run the configuration console on a machine which already has <strong>Spotfire</strong> <strong>Server</strong><br />

installed, you must first uninstall the <strong>Spotfire</strong> <strong>Server</strong>.<br />

It is possible to run the <strong>Spotfire</strong> <strong>Server</strong> installer silently using predefined parameters.<br />

This is useful in when you wish to install several servers with the same setup. See<br />

“Installing <strong>Spotfire</strong> <strong>Server</strong> Silently Using Pre-defined Parameters” on page 84 for<br />

more information.<br />

To run the Installer:<br />

1 Run the installer.<br />

2 The Introduction dialog is displayed. Click Next.<br />

3 The <strong>TIBCO</strong> License dialog is displayed. Read the license agreement and select the<br />

appropriate radio button. Click Next.<br />

4 The Third Party Components dialog is displayed. You do not need these for the<br />

configuration console, so select not to download these.<br />

Click Next.<br />

5 The Choose Install Set dialog is displayed. Since you are installing the configuration<br />

console on a separate machine from the <strong>Spotfire</strong> <strong>Server</strong>, select to install only the<br />

<strong>Spotfire</strong> Configuration Console.<br />

Click Next.<br />

6 The Installation Folder is displayed. Specify where you want to install the previously<br />

selected component(s). Click Next.<br />

7 The OS Architecture dialog is displayed. Select whether you want to install the 32-bit<br />

or 64-bit version of <strong>TIBCO</strong> <strong>Spotfire</strong> <strong>Server</strong>.<br />

The 64-bit version can only be installed on a 64-bit operating system. The 32-bit<br />

version can be installed on either a 64-bit or a 32-bit operating system.<br />

The 64-bit version can only be installed on a 64-bit operating system. The 32-bit<br />

Windows and Solaris version can be installed on either a 64-bit or a 32-bit operating<br />

system. The 32-bit Red Hat and SUSE versions can only be installed on 32-bit Red<br />

Hat and SUSE systems.<br />

Click Next.<br />

8 Windows only. The Windows Service dialog is displayed. You have three options:<br />

• Do not create Windows Service.<br />

• Create Windows Service, but do not start it.<br />

• Create Windows Service, and start it at the end of installation.<br />

Select the option you want and click Next.<br />
