6.2.3 TIBCO Spotfire Library Administration
In the Spotfire client, there is also an administration tool called the Library
Administration. This tool is used to administer the Spotfire Library. The Library is a
feature that allows Spotfire users to publish and share analyses and data with each
other.
The content of the Library can be exported and imported. This can be used as a backup
function. If you have migrated from Spotfire Analytics Server 10.1, the Migration
Tool has exported the 10.1 Library content. To import it, see the section “Importing
Library Content” on page 58.
6.3 Deploying TIBCO Spotfire
A Spotfire deployment consists of software packages and licenses packaged into
distributions and uploaded to and stored in the Spotfire database. For a user to be able
to log in, and for Spotfire clients to work properly, a Spotfire deployment must be
present at login time. Software patches and license information stored in the
deployment will be downloaded to and control the behavior of the clients.
A Spotfire deployment is created by obtaining the TIBCO Spotfire Deployment
distribution and upload it to the Spotfire server using the Administration Console. See
its help for more information about this.
6.4 Setting up Users, Groups, and Licenses
Spotfire licenses control which software features are available to different users.
Licenses are set for groups. If you are using an external mechanism to handle users
and groups, you can create Spotfire groups and put the external groups into the
Spotfire groups. Users and groups can be created and deleted in the Administration
Console. Licenses are set in the Administration Manager, on the tab Groups and
Licenses. See each tool’s help for detailed information and help on setting up Users,
