Migration from 10.1
3.9 Configuration Not Migrated
Single-sign on authentication and database authentication configuration from a 10.1
server is compatible with a 3.2 system. If you use any such authentication, any
configuration files, such as spotfire.keytab, krb5.conf, etc., are put in a subfolder of
the export folder, java-mods. You need to manually move these files to the 3.2
server(s). Refer to the chapter “Authentication and User Directory” on page 65 for
details on where to put these files, or how to set up authentication again.
Database drivers are not migrated and need to be copied manually from a 10.1
installation or aquired anew from your database vendor. In the 10.1 installation, these
drivers are located in the folder
/server/webapps/spotfire/WEB-INF/lib.
Copy the drivers used to connect to the Spotfire Database to
/tomcat/lib
Copy the drivers used to connect to other data sources to
/tomcat/webapps/spotfire/WEB-INF/lib
Note: Do not copy any other files from the 10.1 installation directory. If you copy all
the files in the lib folder, for instance, the 3.2 server will be incapacitated and a reinstall
is necessary. If at all unsure, aquire new drivers from your database vendor.
3.10 Uninstall the Migration Tool
When you have made sure that everything has been migrated correctly and as
expected, you can safely uninstall the migration tool. An uninstaller created during
install will be located in the folder /installer/.
Once you have migrated the 10.1 data, you are ready to configure your 3.2 system.
Please proceed to “Configure the System” on page 47.
