Resolution Awarding Bid for the Freedom Boulevard
Reconstruction Project, Project No. ST-07-05.

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council award the construction contract for the Freedom
Boulevard Reconstruction Project, Project No. ST-07-05, to the lowest responsive bidder,
Monterey Peninsula Engineering of Marina, CA, in the amount of $1,105,767.00.
DISCUSSION:
This project consists of the reconstruction of Freedom Boulevard, between East High Street
and Broadis Street. The work involves reconstruction and overlay of the roadway and
replacement of the sidewalk.
On May 10, 2011, the City Council approved Resolution No. 81-11 (CM) that included approval
of plans and specifications and called for bids for the subject project. Bids were opened on
June 2, 2011. The results are summarized as follows:
