Go Figure: A Service-Learning Course in Statistics

In order to teach honors students the elements of statistical reasoning without scaring them to
death, two honors instructors embedded the quantitative content in a service-learning course.
This tactic encouraged a discovery approach to statistics. Faculty and students discuss the
pedagogy and the projects developed for this course.
