The link between teamwork and production<br />

At any workplace there are goals and targets to be achieved. Achievement depends<br />

on the collective effort <strong>of</strong> top <strong>management</strong>, the <strong>project</strong> manager and members <strong>of</strong> the<br />

<strong>project</strong> team. Our starting point is the definition <strong>of</strong> key terms, and the following<br />

activity invites you to make your first contribution.<br />

3. The connection between teamwork and production is that<br />

Teamwork refers to a group <strong>of</strong> people working together in order to achieve a<br />

common goal. Production, on the other hand, refers to the results <strong>of</strong> teamwork. For<br />

example, if the goal <strong>of</strong> a car assembly plant is to assemble four cars in a day, and<br />

only two are assembled, we say production is below target. Similarly, if a team at the<br />

border post <strong>of</strong> a country takes ten hours to clear travellers, where it normally takes<br />

four hours for a different team, we can say that team is not productive enough. The<br />

connection between teamwork and production is that where members <strong>of</strong> a team pull<br />

together, they are more productive, whatever type <strong>of</strong> business. Given this<br />
