Marc Berg is a physician and health scientist. He is currently professor of
Social-Medical Sciences at the Institute of Health Policy and Management,
Erasmus University Medical Centre, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. His areas of
interest include health information management and quality management. He
has published many articles and books, including Rationalizing Medical Work.
Decision Support Techniques and Medical Practices, 1997, Cambridge: MIT

Cé Bergen is a physician, with a Masters in Business Administration and a
Masters in Health Informatics. He worked as a senior-consultant for Price
Waterhouse Coopers for many years, and gained much experience doing
interim management, developing and implementing information strategies and
leading large scale information system replacements. Some years ago, he
started his own consulting agency (Bergen Consulting).
Enrico Coiera is a physician with a PhD in computer science. He is
Foundation Chair in Medical Informatics within the Faculty of Medicine at the
University of New South Wales, Australia. He is also Co-director of the
Centre for Health Informatics, and an Adjunct Professor in Computer Science
at the University of New South Wales. He is the author of many publications,
including the widely used Guide to Medical Informatics, the Internet and
Telemedicine, Oxford University Press, 1997 (currently in its 2003 2nd
Edition as Guide to Health Informatics).
Heather Heathfield is a computer scientist. She is currently managing director
of IT Perspectives Ltd, a company that provides an extensive range of research
and health informatics consultancy services to its (predominantly UK)
clients. She is also well known for her academic research in decision support
systems, electronic patient records and evaluation of IT in health care.
Bert Huisman holds a Masters in Business Administration/Business
Informatics from the Rotterdam School of Management. He has 20 years’
experience in health care IT, primarily with international health care software
companies. Today, he works part-time as a researcher in the Research group
