PK-232 OPERATING MANUAL COMMAND SUMMARY
PT200 ON/OFF
Mode: Pactor
Default: ON
Host: PB
Pactor uses an adaptive data rate selection scheme. The normal data rate is 100
baud. If conditions permit, the data rate will be shifted to 200 baud
automatically. If the error rate becomes too high at 200 baud the data rate will
automatically be reduced to 100 baud. There can be conditions where the data
rate is frequently shifting, causing a loss in the actual information data rate.
The command PT200 when off, will prevent the data rate from automatically
changing to 200 baud. When PT200 is ON (default), the PK-232 will allow
automatic data rate selection.
PTConn [!]aaaa(aa)
Mode: Pactor
Parameters:
Host: PG
aaaa(aa) is the call sign of the Pactor station to be called
PTConn is an immediate command that starts the Pactor connect protocol. To start
a Pactor connect, type "PIC' followed by the other station's call sign:
Example: PTC N7ML
As soon as the is typed, the PK-232 will begin keying your transmitter on
and off with the Pactor connect sequence.
If you are connecting with a station via long path, i.e. more than half way
around the world, use an exclamation mark before the callsign:
Example: PTC !N7ML
This changes the Pactor timing to allow for the extended radio propagation time.
