Doc.application to tJie court of common pleat? of the county in which suchcolliery is situate for an order to have an accurate map or plan ofsaid colliery prepared, and if such survey shall prove that the mapfurnished was materially inaccurate or imperfect, such owner, operatoror superintendent shall be iiable for the expense incurred in makingthe same.Section G. If it shall be found that the map or plan furnished bythe owner, operator or superintendent was not materially inaccurateor imperfect, the Commonwealth shall beincurred in making such test survey.held liable for the expenseSection 7. If it shall be shown that the said owner, operator orsuperintendent has knowingly or designedly caused or allowed suchmap or plan, when furnished, to be incorrect or false, such owner,operator or superintendent thus offending, shall be guilty of a misdemeanorand upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine notexceeding five hundred dollars or imprisonment not exceeding threemonths, atthe discretion of the court.Section 8. The maps or plans of the several coal mines or collieriesin each district and which are placed in the custody of the inspector,shall be the property of the Commonwealth, and shall remainin the care of the inspector of the district in which the saidcollieries are situated to be transferred by him to his successor inoffice; and in no case shall a copy of the same be made without theconsent of the owner, operator or superintendent.Section 9. The inspector's map or plan of any particular collieryshall be open for inspection, in the presence of the inspector, to anyminer or miners of that colliery, whenever said miner or miners shallhave cause to fear that his or their working place or places is becomingdangerous, by reason of its proximity to other workings whichmaj' be supposed to contain water or dangerous gases. Said mapshall also be open tointerested, during business hours.the inspection and examination of any citizenSection 10. It shall be obligatory on the owners of adjoining coalproperties to leave, or cause to be left, a pillar of coal in each seamor vein of coal worked by them, along the line of adjoining property,of such width, that taken in connection with the pillar to be left bythe adjoining property owner, will be a sufficient barrier for thesaf(4y of the employes of either mine in case the other should beabandoned and allowed to fill with water; such width of pillar to bedetermined by the engineers of the adjoining property owners togetherwith the inspector of the district in which the mine is situated,and the surveys of the face of the workings along such pillarshall be made in duplicate and must practically agree. A copy ofsuch duplicate surveys, certified to, must be filed with the ownersof the adjoining properties and with the inspector of the district inwhich the mine or property is situated.
