On one ol my visits to this mine I found firedampon one of the falls in such a (luantit}' as to be dangerous should anaked light come in contact with it, as it was likely to do at any time,as persons were passing the entrance to the place frequently. On examiningthe fire boss' record book I noticed that this gas had beenreported as being present on the fall since the 10th of October, thedate of my visit being the 26th. This book shows that the dangerwas reported each day from the former date, up to and includingthe latter, 16 days in all. The following record appears on the mineforeman's report book, viz.: "I have removed all dangers reportedby the fire boss, as far as practicable." Signed, IClijah Dainty, MineForeman. Being convinced that the above I'ecord was not borne outby the facts in the case, I made information against Mine ForemanElijah Dainty before Alderman W. P.
