232 REPORT OF THE BUREAU OF MINES. Off. Doc.Wadesville Colliery.The old shaft was sunk 97 feet deeper, bringing it to the level ofthe bottom of the new shaft. A tunnel has been driven connectingihe sumps* of the two shafts. In the new shaft a tunnel has beendiiven on the west side to the Mammotli and Skidmore veins, andis being driven on to the Huck Mountain vein. An overhead airtunnel is also iM'lng driven to these veins. A new ventilating fan,21 feet diameter, all made of iron, has betni installed, and a newbreaker is in course of erection.New Collier}^ lieing Opened.A new colliery is being opened by the Woodside Coal Companyon the site of the old Roliersville colliery in Foster township, whichwas abandoned many years ago. A double track slope, having agrade of 29 degrees, is being sunk on tlie Buck Mountain vein, whichhad not been worked at the old colliery. A drift gangway is alsobeing driven on the Buck Mountain vein, also a drift is being drivenon the "Billy vein," which is about four feet thick under the Danielvein, which has been worked out, the dividing slate being only 20inches thick.
