Thecondition of the mine was good.Durham.This mine works verj- regularly, is operated by the Kemble IronCompany, and the fnoduct is used for maki, j;: coke for the furnaces ofthat company. Considerable new work has been opened up, and theventilation and drainage was always good.Delta.Very little work has been done here duriiig the year as the partieswho leased the mine soon gave it up. The condition of the ventilationwas not very good.Harvey Slope.This mine was operated by the Harvey ('oalMining Compan,\, andduring the latter part of the year it went inro the hands of a receiver,by whom it is now being operated. The ventilation was not verygood, and the managers have promised to put in a fan in a shodtin'e,Cunard.Operated by the IMorrisdale Coal C^ompany, and has worked very irregularlyduring the year, owing to disputes between the miners andoperators. They still have much trouble with rolls and dii)s, andtlie mine is very liard to keep in I'casonablv good condilion.The ventilationon the whole was good.New Hampshire.The Crescent Conl Mining Company leased this min-.' during (heyear, and it lias worked fairly well.
