The term "bituminous" coal mines shall includeall coal mines inthe State not now included in the anthraciteboundaries.The provisions of this act shall not apply to any mine employingless than ten persons in any one period of twenty-four hours.Section 1.ARTICLE XXIII.That all acts or parts of acts inconsistent herewith beand the same are hereby repealed.Approved—The 15th day of May, A. PATTISON.AN ACTEqualizing and fixing the compensation and mileage of the members of the severalboards appointed under the provisions of the act approved June second,one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, to examine candidates for appointmentas Inspectors, foremen and fire bosses, respectively, in the anthracitecoal mines, and providing for the employment and compensation and mileageof a clerk to each of said boards.Section 1. Be it enacted, &c.. That from and after the passage ofthis act the members of the several boards appointed under the provisionsof the act approved June second, one thousand eight hundredand ninety-one, to examine candidates for appointment respectivelyas inspectors and foremen of anthracite coal mines, shall receivein lieu of all compensation, mileage, expenses, emoluments orallowances heretofore paid them^ as follows:Six dollars per day foreach day during which the said members shall be actually in attendanceon the sessions of the board, and mileage at the rate offive cents for each mile actually traveled going from the home of themember to the place of meeting of the board and returning from saidplace to his said home by the shortest practicable railway route:Provided, That mileage shall be paid but once for each continuoussession of the board, and by a continuous session shall be meant asession during the course of which no adjournment for a longersection of this act shall be and the same isperiod than forty-eight hours shall take place.Section 2. Each of the boards enumerated or described in the firsthereby authorized to employa clerk, whose compensation and mileage shall be the same asthat of a member of the board.
