176 <str<strong>on</strong>g>Essays</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Gita</strong><strong>the</strong>ir human wills and <strong>the</strong> strife of <strong>the</strong>ir human fear, wrath andpassi<strong>on</strong>, and liberated from all this unquiet and suffering maylive in <strong>the</strong> calm and bliss of <strong>the</strong> Divine. 2 Nor does it matteressentially in what form and name or putting forward whataspect of <strong>the</strong> Divine he comes; for in all ways, varying with <strong>the</strong>irnature, men are following <strong>the</strong> path set to <strong>the</strong>m by <strong>the</strong> Divinewhich will in <strong>the</strong> end lead <strong>the</strong>m to him and <strong>the</strong> aspect of himwhich suits <strong>the</strong>ir nature is that which <strong>the</strong>y can best follow whenhe comes to lead <strong>the</strong>m; in whatever way men accept, love andtake joy in God, in that way God accepts, loves and takes joy inman. Ye yathā māṁ prapadyante tāṁs tathaiva bhajāmyaham.2 janma karma ca me divyam evaṁ yo vetti tattvataḥ,tyaktvā dehaṁ punarjanma naiti mām eti so’rjuna.vītarāgabhayakrodhā manmayā mām upāśritāḥ,bahavo jñānatapasā pūtā madbhāvam āgatāḥ.
