He is<strong>the</strong> supernal Pers<strong>on</strong> of whom all self and nature, all being andbecoming in this or any universe are <strong>the</strong> self-c<strong>on</strong>cepti<strong>on</strong> and<strong>the</strong> self-energising, Purushottama. He is <strong>the</strong> ineffable Lord ofall existence who by his spiritual c<strong>on</strong>trol of his own manifestedPower in Nature unrolls <strong>the</strong> cycles of <strong>the</strong> world and <strong>the</strong> naturalevoluti<strong>on</strong> of creatures in <strong>the</strong> cycles, Parameshwara. From him<strong>the</strong> Jiva, individual spirit, soul in Nature, existent by his being,c<strong>on</strong>scious by <strong>the</strong> light of his c<strong>on</strong>sciousness, empowered toknowledge, to will and to acti<strong>on</strong> by his will and power, enjoyingexistence by his divine enjoyment of <strong>the</strong> cosmos, has come hereinto <strong>the</strong> cosmic rounds.The inner soul in man is here a partial self-manifestati<strong>on</strong> of<strong>the</strong> Divine, self-limited for <strong>the</strong> works of his Nature in <strong>the</strong> universe,prakṛtir jīva-bhūtā. In his spiritual essence <strong>the</strong> individual is<strong>on</strong>e with <strong>the</strong> Divine. In <strong>the</strong> works of <strong>the</strong> divine Prakriti he is <strong>on</strong>ewith him, yet <strong>the</strong>re is an operative difference and many deep relati<strong>on</strong>swith God in Nature and with God above cosmic Nature.In <strong>the</strong> works of <strong>the</strong> lower appearance of Prakriti he seems byan ignorance and egoistic separati<strong>on</strong> to be quite o<strong>the</strong>r than <strong>the</strong>One and to think, will, act, enjoy in this separative c<strong>on</strong>sciousnessfor <strong>the</strong> egoistic pleasure and purpose of his pers<strong>on</strong>al existencein <strong>the</strong> universe and its surface relati<strong>on</strong>s with o<strong>the</strong>r embodiedminds and lives. But in fact all his being, all his thinking, allhis willing and acti<strong>on</strong> and enjoyment are <strong>on</strong>ly a reflecti<strong>on</strong> —egoistic and perverted so l<strong>on</strong>g as he is in <strong>the</strong> ignorance — of <strong>the</strong>
