This supreme secret is <strong>the</strong> mysteryof <strong>the</strong> transcendent Godhead who is all and everywhere,yet so much greater and o<strong>the</strong>r than <strong>the</strong> universe and allits forms that nothing here c<strong>on</strong>tains him, nothing expresseshim really, and no language which is borrowed from <strong>the</strong>appearances of things in space and time and <strong>the</strong>ir relati<strong>on</strong>scan suggest <strong>the</strong> truth of his unimaginable being. The c<strong>on</strong>sequentlaw of our perfecti<strong>on</strong> is an adorati<strong>on</strong> by our wholenature and its self-surrender to its divine source and possessor.Our <strong>on</strong>e ultimate way is <strong>the</strong> turning of our entireexistence in <strong>the</strong> world, and not merely of this or that in it,into a single movement towards <strong>the</strong> Eternal. By <strong>the</strong> powerand mystery of a divine Yoga we have come out of his inexpressiblesecrecies into this bounded nature of phenomenalthings. By a reverse movement of <strong>the</strong> same Yoga we musttranscend <strong>the</strong> limits of phenomenal nature and recover <strong>the</strong>greater c<strong>on</strong>sciousness by which we can live in <strong>the</strong> Divine and<strong>the</strong> Eternal.The supreme being of <strong>the</strong> Divine is bey<strong>on</strong>d manifestati<strong>on</strong>:<strong>the</strong> true sempiternal image of him is not revealed in matter,nor is it seized by life, nor is it cognisable by mind, acintyarūpa,avyaktamūrti. What we see is <strong>on</strong>ly a self-created form,rūpa, not <strong>the</strong> eternal form of <strong>the</strong> Divinity, svarūpa. There issome<strong>on</strong>e or <strong>the</strong>re is something that is o<strong>the</strong>r than <strong>the</strong> universe,inexpressible, unimaginable, an ineffably infinite Godhead bey<strong>on</strong>danything that our largest or subtlest c<strong>on</strong>cepti<strong>on</strong>s of infinitycan shadow.
