Cease to regard your works as your own; as youhave aband<strong>on</strong>ed <strong>the</strong> fruits of your work, so you must surrender<strong>the</strong> work also to <strong>the</strong> Lord of acti<strong>on</strong> and sacrifice. Recognisethat your nature determines your acti<strong>on</strong>; your nature rules <strong>the</strong>immediate moti<strong>on</strong> of your Swabhava and decides <strong>the</strong> expressiveturn and development of your spirit in <strong>the</strong> paths of <strong>the</strong> executiveforce of Prakriti. Bring in no l<strong>on</strong>ger any self-will to c<strong>on</strong>fuse <strong>the</strong>steps of your mind in following <strong>the</strong> Godward way. Accept <strong>the</strong>acti<strong>on</strong> proper to your nature. Make of all you do from <strong>the</strong>greatest and most unusual effort to <strong>the</strong> smallest daily act, makeof each act of your mind, each act of your heart, each act of yourbody, of every inner and outer turn, of every thought and willand feeling, of every step and pause and movement, a sacrificeto <strong>the</strong> Master of all sacrifice and Tapasya.“Next know that you are an eternal porti<strong>on</strong> of <strong>the</strong> Eternaland <strong>the</strong> powers of your nature are nothing without him, nothingif not his partial self-expressi<strong>on</strong>. It is <strong>the</strong> Divine Infinite that isbeing progressively fulfilled in your nature. It is <strong>the</strong> supremepower-to-be, it is <strong>the</strong> Shakti of <strong>the</strong> Lord that shapes and takesshape in your swabhava. Give up <strong>the</strong>n all sense that you are<strong>the</strong> doer; see <strong>the</strong> Eternal al<strong>on</strong>e as <strong>the</strong> doer of <strong>the</strong> acti<strong>on</strong>. Letyour natural being be an occasi<strong>on</strong>, an instrument, a channel ofpower, a means of manifestati<strong>on</strong>. Offer up your will to him andmake it <strong>on</strong>e with his eternal will: surrender all your acti<strong>on</strong>s in<strong>the</strong> silence of your self and spirit to <strong>the</strong> transcendent Master ofyour nature. This cannot be really d<strong>on</strong>e or d<strong>on</strong>e perfectly sol<strong>on</strong>g as <strong>the</strong>re is any ego sense in you or any mental claim orvital clamour. Acti<strong>on</strong> d<strong>on</strong>e in <strong>the</strong> least degree for <strong>the</strong> sake of<strong>the</strong> ego or tinged with <strong>the</strong> desire and will of <strong>the</strong> ego is not aperfect sacrifice. Nor can this great thing be well and truly d<strong>on</strong>eso l<strong>on</strong>g as <strong>the</strong>re is inequality anywhere or any stamp of ignorantshrinking and preference. But when <strong>the</strong>re is a perfect equality toall works, results, things and pers<strong>on</strong>s, a surrender to <strong>the</strong> Highestand not to desire or ego, <strong>the</strong>n <strong>the</strong> divine Will determines withoutstumbling or deflecti<strong>on</strong> and <strong>the</strong> divine Power executes freelywithout any ne<strong>the</strong>r interference or perverting reacti<strong>on</strong> all worksin <strong>the</strong> purity and safety of your transmuted nature.
