Columnbalance must be checked with the normal payload mounted.1. After initialization is complete, switch the MCB controller to Local andtwist the joystick to raise the column to approximately the middle of itsrange.2. Make sure that all cables and equipment such as the prompter are in theirnormal operating positions.3. Move the column up and down slowly around its mid point and watch thebalance meter on the rear panel of the pedestal. The meter deflection willbe equal in both directions if the column is balanced.4. If the deflection is greater when the column is raised, the pressure is toolow and gas should be added.
