New or significant re-development activities - propose changes to code that promote/requirereduction <strong>of</strong> impervious surfaces, use <strong>of</strong> swales, the incorporation <strong>of</strong> low impact developmentprinciples, stormwater reuse, and adherence to the principles <strong>of</strong> Florida Yard andNeighborhood Program in new landscaping.7. Consider modifying the LOS for roadways, to be consistent with SFWMD. The <strong>City</strong>’scurrent LOS for roadways is that the minimum local roadway be at or above the 3-year, 1-dayflood elevation. The SFWMD requires the roadway centerline be at or above the 5-year, 1-day flood elevation.8. Increase public education activities for stormwater awareness, illicit discharge identificationand reporting, grass clippings, pet waste pick-up, etc.9. Prohibit disposal <strong>of</strong> grass clippings/yard waste in stormwater management system, swales,and roadways. This would require a change to the code.10. Educate the public regarding the benefits <strong>of</strong> restricting the use <strong>of</strong> fertilizers containingphosphorus. Consider making use <strong>of</strong> existing public education programs and tailor them foruse specifically to the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Boca</strong> <strong>Raton</strong>.11. Implement a tracking mechanism for maintenance <strong>of</strong> exfiltration trench which is separatefrom the current method <strong>of</strong> tracking exfiltration trench inspections. This is recommended forthe purposes <strong>of</strong> annual reporting and to address a comment received from the FDEP on thelast Annual Report submittal.12. Implement a tracking method within the Fire Rescue Department for hazardous materialspills responded to and for non-hazardous material spills responded to for purposes <strong>of</strong> annualreporting.13. Implement an annual inspection <strong>of</strong> all high risk facilities within the <strong>City</strong> and confirm thatthere are no facilities with a potential to discharge to the <strong>City</strong>’s MS4 for purposes <strong>of</strong> annualreporting.14. Complete the replacement <strong>of</strong> the MP2 Database system and training <strong>of</strong> the appropriatepersonnel to enter and access the data. Develop a connection between this database and the<strong>City</strong>’s stormwater GIS.15.
