FreePost envelope layout standards (ADV669)Domestic Bulk Mail Envelope Layout Standards (ADV391)These brochures are available on our website, www.nzpost.co.nz, or by calling ourCustomer Service Centre on 0800 501 501.To qualify for the approved format rate, your envelope must comply with both theapproved envelope layout standards and the dimension and weight restrictions.Envelopes not meeting these requirements will be charged the non-approved formatrate.We recommend that you have your envelope format checked before printing by faxing itto our Customer Service Centre on 0800 424 802 or emailing it to fp.pp@nzpost.co.nzAll FreePost items must:be addressed to a valid New Zealand Post PO Box or Private Bag deliveryaddress. FreePost items cannot be sent to street or rural addresses; andinclude your organisation’s name and your FreePost authority number or word.For further information, refer to our website at www.nzpost.co.nz/addressing, or call ourCustomer Service Centre on 0800 501 501.We will check your FreePost items to ensure they meet our FreePost requirements. Ifyour items do not meet these requirements, we may refuse to accept or deliver thoseitems.Other terms andconditionsApplying for a FreePost authority number or wordTo apply for a FreePost authority number or word you must fill in the FreePostapplication form available on our website at www.nzpost.co.nz/freepost, or bycontacting our Customer Service Centre on 0800 501 501.You are able to use your FreePost authority number or word until it is cancelled, eitherby yourself or New Zealand Post.You cannot have the FreePost authority number or word you choose if that number orword is already being used by someone else or if we decide it isn’t suitable.Paying for FreePostWhen you receive FreePost responses, a card will be left in your New Zealand PostPO Box or Private Bag telling you how many responses you have received and theamount you need to pay. You must pay by cash or cheque at the time you collect yourFreePost responses or, if you are one of our New Zealand Post Account customers, wewill invoice you.Cancelling your FreePost authority number or wordWe reserve the right to cancel your FreePost authority word or number at any time.You must inform us in writing if you want to cancel your FreePost authority number orword.If your FreePost authority number or word is cancelled (either by us or at your request)you must inform all of your customers that they can no longer use it. You agree to payfor any mail received using your FreePost authority number or word after it has beencancelled.Prohibited andRestricted itemsSpecial conditions apply to Prohibited and Restricted items. Prohibited and Restricteditems include (but are not limited to) dangerous, perishable, fragile and high valueitems. Refer to section 2 of this Postal Users' Guide for full details.Compensation termsand conditionsItems posted for 80 cents or less(including GST)In accordance with the PostalServices Act, no compensation ispayable on items with postage of 80cents or lessItems posted for more than 80c(including GST)The maximum compensation payable isNZ$250** This limit is subject to a number of important limitations and exclusions, in particular inrelation to Prohibited and Restricted items.
