136 Lessons on <strong>The</strong> <strong>Yoga</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Patanjali</strong>those who know. We should not speak much about these thingsin the public. If we attempt to speak much, there will be anautomatic veil thrown upon the minds to conceal them. Naturemakes us drift into other subjects whenever we attempt to discussthem in detail. You can try and find out the truth <strong>of</strong> it. Pledge <strong>of</strong>secrecy does not mean that secret is to be protected but itmeans that you cannot help keeping it a secret.If you attempt to make it a text book, you will be describingsomething about it but you cannot reveal anything. You mayattempt to explain the detail <strong>of</strong> it to others and you will knowthe truth <strong>of</strong> it. You will speak about them without coming to thepoint. If at all you begin to strike the correct note, your listenerwill question about something irrelevant and drift into anothertopic. A gap <strong>of</strong> communication exists between those who areattained by the Lord-consciousness and those who liveobjectively to it. <strong>The</strong> passage that contains these secrets iscalled “<strong>The</strong> Living Book” by those who know. <strong>The</strong> sevenstanzas <strong>of</strong> the book <strong>of</strong> Dzyan are good examples. A detailedcommentary <strong>of</strong> these seven stanzas is the big volume which wecall the ‘Secret Doctrine’. Blavatsky is permitted to make adeliberate attempt to explain some <strong>of</strong> these things. Yet the subjectremains a mystery to those who read her book. Secrecy ismaintained by people who speak <strong>of</strong> the book without readingit and those who criticise the book without opening the firstpage. A majority <strong>of</strong> the senior most members <strong>of</strong> the <strong>The</strong>osophicalSociety die without even opening the book. Some have doubtedthe bonafides without knowing what there is and some othersdoubted the very existence <strong>of</strong> the Masters who guided the author.<strong>The</strong> result is that the subject is always a secret doctrine thoughthe book is printed and published many times. This is what iscalled the Pledge <strong>of</strong> Secrecy in its true sense. <strong>The</strong> Puranas andIthihasas are there which contain the top secrets <strong>of</strong> the Science<strong>of</strong> Super-imposition.
