Lesson - 3 53it carries the smell of camphor afterwards. If you press an onionto it carries the smell of the onion. If you carry a desire in themind, the mind begins to smell the desire. Afterwards, it smellslike the desire for some time. Now if you place a lump of fire inthe handkerchief for some time, it is not correct that handkerchiefsmells like fire. Fire is the only exception that cannot be carriedby the handkerchief.Similarly, when desire is applied to achieve Yogaconsciousness,the mind cannot carry the desire. Instead, thedesire disappears into the awareness since the mind also getsabsorbed into the awareness. Since it is impossible to driveaway the desire by fighting it out you have to apply it to yourown awareness and it disappears. This was the thing which theMasters aimed at when they talked to the founders of theTheosophical Society about Universal Brotherhood and aboutforming a nucleus. Forming a nucleus was understood in theobjective sense by the members of Theosophy. So they gatheredtogether to form a physical nucleus. They wanted to open anew centre of wisdom on the physical place with many heads(outer and inner), coming together physically. Unless everyoneforms a nucleus of Yogic awareness in himself, it is not possiblefor them to form a physical nucleus. By Lodge the Mastersmean that it is a Lodge where the Devas lodge to frame aconstitution which is called ‘Man’. Unless the members knowtheir bodies and minds like this there is no use of forming alodge on the physical plane. We see how the various Restaurantsare called Lodges. It is not in that sense that the Masters usedthe word ‘Lodge.’ It is not a house on the physical plane andthis is the reason why the Master D.
