<strong>Australia</strong>’s largest petroleum produc<strong>in</strong>g bas<strong>in</strong>s are the Carnarvon Bas<strong>in</strong><br />
<strong>in</strong> the north-west of <strong>Australia</strong>, the Cooper-Eromanga Bas<strong>in</strong>, which<br />
straddles the border between South <strong>Australia</strong> and Queensland, and the<br />
Gippsland Bas<strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong> Bass Strait. Production from the Carnarvon Bas<strong>in</strong><br />
is mostly exported, while production from the Gippsland and Cooper-<br />
Eromanga bas<strong>in</strong>s is used to support domestic ref<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g. The Carnarvon<br />
bas<strong>in</strong> accounted for 64 per cent of <strong>Australia</strong>’s crude oil and condensate<br />
production <strong>in</strong> 2014–15.<br />
