Verdict<br />
Heat Genius is very good<br />
at a very useful thing. It is<br />
easy to use and efficient.<br />
How long it takes to pay for<br />
itself will depend on your<br />
circumstances, and it may be<br />
that a full system is too much<br />
of a long-term investment<br />
for you. If you are looking to<br />
install in your a zoned smart<br />
heating system, we are happy<br />
to recommend Heat Genius.<br />
EvoHome is the best smart<br />
heating system we’ve tested.<br />
It isn’t perfect though, and<br />
it’s also very expensive,<br />
or can be. But if you value<br />
convenience and comfort<br />
above saving money, it’s<br />
the one to buy.<br />
If you need only a single<br />
thermostat and don’t need<br />
control over hot water, the<br />
Nest is a good choice. The<br />
Nest Protect smoke and<br />
carbon monoxide alarm also<br />
works with the thermostat,<br />
but it’s not cheap. There’s<br />
also the Nest Cam, but the<br />
tie-in with the thermostat<br />
is minimal.<br />
The Hive Active Heating<br />
system is a great upgrade<br />
for anyone that wants or<br />
needs the ability to be able<br />
to control their heating<br />
remotely. It’s by no means<br />
the most advanced smart<br />
thermostat, but it will do<br />
the job at a good price for<br />
a lot of people.<br />
Tado is the best smart<br />
thermostat if you like the<br />
idea of presence detection<br />
as it simply follows you and<br />
your smartphone via GPS,<br />
and turns the heating up or<br />
down as you get further away<br />
or nearer home. There’s also<br />
hot water control, but the<br />
thermostat itself isn’t the<br />
best looking.<br />
