Gas-cooled Roots pumps<br />
Upon request, the gas-cooled Roots pumps described in Section 2.6.1 can also be supplied in<br />
sizes ranging from 500 m3 / h (18.5 kW drive power) to 12,000 m3 (200 kW drive power).<br />
2.6.4.4 Pumping stations<br />
Pfeiffer <strong>Vacuum</strong> offers its CombiLine standard pumping stations with single- and two-stage<br />
backing pumps:<br />
Roots pumping stations WU … with single-stage HenaLine / UnoLine Plus rotary vane pumps<br />
with an ultimate pressure of p < 5 . 10 - 2 mbar. They are cost-effective and suitable for the<br />
following applications:<br />
Evacuating load lock chambers (e.g. electron beam welding, coating)<br />
Helium leak detection<br />
<strong>Vacuum</strong> drying and degassing, metallurgy,<br />
(e.g. hardening, sintering, soldering, casting, smelting)<br />
Roots pumping stations WD … with two-stage DuoLine rotary vane pumps<br />
with an ultimate pressure of p < 5 . 10 - 4 mbar for the following applications:<br />
Backing pump station for high vacuum pumps<br />
Coating (e.g. wear protection, decorative coatings, thermal protection coatings,<br />
optical coatings)<br />
Metallurgy (e.g. hardening, sintering, soldering, casting, smelting, degassing)<br />
Roots pumping stations WH … with UniDry 50 or HeptaDry dry screw pumps<br />
with an ultimate pressure of p < 1 . 10 -2 mbar for the following applications:<br />
Coating (solar industry, metalizing, surface treatment)<br />
Degassing steel and plastics<br />
<strong>Vacuum</strong> drying, workpiece cleaning<br />
Leak test systems<br />
Freeze drying<br />
2.6.5 Accessories<br />
Splinter shield inserts are offered as accessories for all OktaLine series Roots pumps.<br />
The following oils for lubricating the gearing and the bearings are available as<br />
lubricants (Table 2.7):<br />
Mineral oil P3 (in 0.5 l to 200 l containers)<br />
Perflourpolyether F5 (in 0.5 l to 50 l containers)<br />
Diester oil D1 (in 0.5 l to 200 l containers)<br />
Caution: Different kinds of oil should not be mixed. The pumps are prepared for one of these<br />
types of oil at delivery.<br />
Since many Roots pumps are installed in pump combinations, it is possible to integrate the<br />
following accessories on an as-needed basis:<br />
Electrical controllers<br />
Measuring instrumentation for temperature and pressure<br />
Pressure regulation means<br />
Heat exchangers and condensers<br />
