initiative is to target the attainment of multiple learning outcomes with a few but effective<br />

assessment methods to evaluate the students’ performances. This aided both the students<br />

and the faculty to not be overwhelmed with so many activities, avoid pressing deadlines,<br />

video conferencing fatigue, and other untoward effects of online learning.<br />

What we observed during the online learning approach is that the students learn at their own<br />

pace and time, and the working and studying time is stretched throughout their day. This is<br />

different from the traditional in-class teaching and learning where we can easily give tasks to<br />

the students and measure the different learning outcomes through different methods. These<br />

undertakings were because when the method of instructional delivery changes, it might be<br />

that the assessment strategy and assessment methods may need to change too.<br />

Coming up with streamlined learning outcomes of the various professional courses is not as<br />

simple as classifying the primary learning outcomes, nor the most essential learning outcomes<br />

in the course, but rather an all-encompassing approach. The instructors meet to do a course<br />

audit session which includes a thorough review of the learning outcomes of the curriculum<br />

map. This is performed to identify what outcome is to be included in the respective courses<br />

to be taught, so as not to duplicate contained with other courses, or worse, still to accidentally<br />

omit an important outcome. The learning outcomes are then carefully and appropriately<br />

mapped out with the corresponding assessment method to check its constructive alignment<br />

and to see it could target several outcomes.<br />

This initiative is carried out because of our experience and reflection as we go on with the<br />

online learning setup. Our personal understanding of what we are going through with the<br />

instruction delivery and the feedback of the students who are the recipients of the<br />

implementation of the programs proved its essentiality. Continuous monitoring of the<br />

students’ academic performances and re-calibration of the learning plans, and the neverending<br />

search for a more appropriate way of evaluating and measuring students’ knowledge<br />

and skills to prepare them as future frontliners is a must for educators.<br />

Challenges and innovations in clinical education during the pandemic<br />

Disruptions to medical and allied health fields (e.g., radiography) education is obvious<br />

worldwide during the pandemic. This showed that protecting the students from being at risk<br />

of contracting <strong>COVID</strong>-<strong>19</strong> is of high importance in this current situation. Consequently, the<br />
