REGIONAL CLUB REPORTS
Welsh Club

We began 2018 with our annual dinner in January
at The Cottage Inn, Llandeilo. Members and
friends gathered together and were joined by
Mr Brian Jones as our guest speaker. Brian is the founder
of the successful food company Castell Howell and was
also the President of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society
in 2017. During the dinner we also presented a cheque
of £300 to Brecon Mountain Rescue for the money raised
during the previous Royal Welsh Winter Fair.
After being postponed twice due to snow, our AGM
was held in April where the following were elected as club
officials:

Treasurer: Aled Davies
Vice Treasurer: Debbie Cumming
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Margaret
Parry, who retired as Secretary, for her many years of
service to the club.
Club members enjoyed a great day at the Worcester
Sale in May. Female and Overall Champion went to Gwili
Gwenan from Martin Beynon and Callum Croft, she sold
for 3,600gns. Male and Reserve Overall Champion went
to Cwarre Hanukkah from Richard and Debbie Cumming,
which sold for 2,900gns.

The show season started at the end of May at Cothi
Bridge where Champion was awarded to Cwarre
Cinderella’s Haze, who went on to win Supreme Interbreed.
The Simmental group of 4 were also triumphant in the
Interbreed.
THE ROYAL WELSH SHOW
Judged by Stewart Stronach, Islavale, Supreme Champion
was awarded to Sterling Petra’s Cairo, exhibited by Bridget
Borlase. Reserve went to Blackford Galaxy, exhibited by
Michael Barlow.
