REGIONAL CLUB REPORTS

East Anglian Simmental Club

Report by Hayley Clarke – Secretary

Another twelve months have gone and here I am

again writing a report for the Annual Review.

Firstly, I would like to thank all our members for

their support throughout the year, it is also great news that

numbers are growing in our club and this is good news for

the breed.

We had three weddings in the club, Chris & Zara Curson:

Hollybrook Herd, James & Kelly Brice: Rendham Herd &

Dennis Mitchell & Eliandro Felipeto - we wish them all the

best for the future.

Newark sale saw a top price of 3400gns for the bulls and

3800gns for the females. There were buyers for the cattle,

so we must try and improve our overall standard.

The show season seemed to go by in a flash, a lot of

the shows have now dropped breed classes which shows

a sign of the times with costs and people being worried

about their cattle picking up diseases.

Suffolk has breed classes, but this year was the lowest

it has seen with exhibitors forward. Lesley & David Sapsed

won with Heathbrow Gypsy Rose. Royal Norfolk was well

supported, Heathbrow herd won again - this time with

Heathbrow Girlie’s Ivy.

A few of us took the trip to the National Show at Great

Yorkshire, with all of us picking up rosettes. It was great to

see Simon back in the ring, we agreed Dad would be very

proud of what he has achieved. To great delight Paul and

Linda were awarded with a prize at the dinner for Fircovert

Cecilia, she has been to seven national shows!!

Once again, we took the long drive to the Royal Welsh

Show, much to our surprise numbers were not that good

either, we picked up Junior Male Champion with Williams

Invincible.
