REGIONAL CLUB REPORTS

The British Simmental section also featured in the

Interbreed honours with the senior pairing of Lynfield

Hamish and Killiworgie Grace’s Camelia standing in the

reserve spot to the Charolais team. While the junior pair

of Chegwidden Impecibull and Sowenna Henrietta’s Ivy

took third in a strong line-up and Sowenna Galaxy did

well to be tapped out in the final line up for the Supreme

Championship against mature opposition. Impecibull was

third in the Interbreed Nare Hotel Best Beef Bull, born on

or after 1 st January 2016 - a brilliant result for his age.

Hayley and Bosahan Harmony Whitney stood Reserve in

the Interbreed best pair of uncalved heifers and Killiworgie

Grace’s Camelia, Bosahan Husky Angelika and Wellatree

Honeybun joined the aforementioned pair in the teams

of five females for the Harry Cock Challenge Trophy and

completed the treble of Interbreed Reserves to the South

Devons.

SUMMER SHOWS

A big appreciation to all club members who have

exhibited their cattle at the one day shows throughout

the summer and flown the Simmental flag, especially

in the mixed beef breed classes. Ant Hart (Treverbyn)

deservedly was awarded the Cornwall Club most points

award for successes with Skylark Geronimo and Treverbyn

Hayley while Steve and Gill Gummow were runners-up with

Lynfield Hamish and Killiworgie Grace’s Camelia.

July ended with a Female Classification Demonstration

kindly hosted by the Sowenna Herd. Club members had

the opportunity to question Tina Russell on the inspection

process and see excellent examples of the type of

cattle to aim for with Sowenna Annie scoring Ex 92. The

demonstration was followed by a herd visit and despite the

dry conditions the Sowenna herd were in fine fettle and a

credit to the Hawkey family.
