SIMMENTAL REVIEW 2018

The Cornwall Pedigree Calf Show, held on the last

Sunday in October, welcomed John Rixon to judge the

continental breeds. He selected Bosahan Infinity (P),

an October 17 son of Heathbrow Freddie Star (P) as his

British Simmental Champion, with the Reserve going to

Killiworgie Buttercup’s Jasmine, a January 18 ET daughter

of Ballinalare Buttercup x Seaview Prince Charming. Tim

Bodilly then selected Infinity as Reserve Interbreed in the

continental section. The British Blue heifer, Dymond Blue

Madeleine prevailed to take the Supreme title over the

native Champion Tregarrick Isaac.

Line up for Simmental Championship

A busy year concluded with our annual general

meeting in November where Barrie Wynter (Bolankin) was

elected as Chairman and Piers Hawkey (Sowenna) as Vice

Chairman.

A big thank you goes to our retiring officers Jim Buckland

and Viv Hall for their contributions to the smooth running

of the club over the last three years.

The meeting was followed by a presentation by Gill

Gummow of the Society trip to Denmark.

The Cornwall Club extends an invitation to overseas

visitors, regional clubs and individual breeders alike to visit

our wonderful county. It is possible to combine a short

break with herd visits and club officers would be pleased to

organise an itinerary for you.

Bosahan win the Best Youngstock, Large Herd & Overall Herd - South

West Herd Competition judged by Clive Rhodes
