British Simmental Review 2018

Agri–Expo was held on 2nd November at Carlisle market
– the start of the winter events. Once again, we had an
extremely good stand with an exhibition of commercial
cattle which were second to none. Following the trend of
the previous year, the footfall at this event appeared to be
down, giving the impression that even free-to-enter events
can run their course.
SIMMENTAL REVIEW 2018
Agri-fest at Westpoint Exeter, an event run by the South
West NBA, followed on November 7th. Although we do
need to have a presence at an event in the south west, I
have long campaigned that this event should be run every
two years; the attendance figures simply do not justify an
annual event. It appears that next year’s event will be run
by Devon County Show, and a decision as to whether or
not we will attend will be made in due course.
