nibbling on her fingernails the whole time. "It seems the courts owe you an<br />

apology, Lady Trist. From this moment you are free and I will make all the<br />

arrangements <strong>to</strong> have your status and property returned."<br />

"Thank you, Deran."<br />

"No, thank you," he smiled at me, "It's a rare individual who will <strong>do</strong> what<br />

you have <strong>do</strong>ne. Now excuse me, I must speak with the magistrates.<br />

With one delicate hand on her breast Trist sighed. Her eyes were dewy as<br />
