Nameless One hisself once was."<br />

Jeanette sighs <strong>be</strong>fore continuing, "I tried giving it a wee home in me own<br />

Annah padded silently across the tiled floor, her s<strong>of</strong>t boots <strong>not</strong> making a<br />

sound as she ghosted from sha<strong>do</strong>w <strong>to</strong> sha<strong>do</strong>w. Whatever sound her<br />

footsteps made would've <strong>be</strong>en drowned out by Morte's snores, and if her<br />

moon-white flesh shone in the dim light, Ignus' roaring flames would've<br />

caught the eye more readily from his resting spot on the balcony.<br />

"Hey."<br />

"Hsst!" she hissed, snapping her head <strong>to</strong> me, "What are yeh <strong>do</strong>in' up an'<br />

about? Yeh <strong>be</strong>en watchin' me?"<br />

I shifted my weight, stepping out from the sha<strong>do</strong>w <strong>of</strong> the pillar, "I've <strong>be</strong>en<br />

feeling restless, <strong>to</strong>o."<br />

She just s<strong>to</strong>od there, her tail flicking, arms crossed in front <strong>of</strong> her. That<br />

moment, by the dim light <strong>of</strong> Ignus burning through the win<strong>do</strong>w, she looked<br />

statuesque. There was a mute tranquility about her, and she stared at me<br />

like a s<strong>to</strong>ne.<br />
