the LIST, and facilitated group decisions which impacted on significant operational issues.<br />

Day to day operations of the LIST is the responsibility of the LIST Operations Group.<br />

The role of the Land Information Coordination Committee has continued to focus on<br />

policy development and custodian appointment. However, with the development of the<br />

LMAG, there was less emphasis on operational issues and more effort on encouraging high<br />

level support and development.<br />

5.4.6 Key Outcomes<br />

The LIST partnership has achieved a range of outcomes including:<br />

• development of effective policies on access and pricing;<br />

• a single authoritative data set for spatial information;<br />

• reduced duplication of mapping activities;<br />

• a standard data exchange process;<br />

• a web based delivery system that is used widely by LGAs and the public; and<br />

• improved intergovernmental relations and trust.<br />

The LIST data sharing and management model has been extremely successful for the <strong>State</strong><br />

of Tasmania and has become a critical component of the information infrastructure for<br />

government, business and the community.<br />

5.4.7 Case Summary<br />

The LIST continues to be a successful partnership initiative and has delivered significant<br />

benefits across both state and local government. The partnerships were initiated in a<br />

turbulent economic and jurisdictional environment which encouraged improved<br />

intergovernmental relations through more efficient use of resources. The project had high<br />
