SILIOS TECHNOLOGIES
Presentation of the Company:
Optical micro-components for telecommunication, imaging,
sensing in medical, aerospace, security systems,
environmental applications
SILIOS TECHNOLOGIES, a private held company created in
July 2001, specialised in micro-optical technologies. It is
a spin-off from ION BEAM SERVICES (IBS), European
leader in Ion Implantation.
Main Services:
Design and simulation of optimised optical systems.
Test and characterisation of planar optical components.
Manufacturing of customised micro-optical components to meet
specific requirements.
Products:
Optical micro-components: A wide range of customised
solutions to improve the optical functions of lasers or
instruments. Designed for industry or research involved in
astronomy, space, defence, micromachining, medical or security
applications, the following specific micro-components are
offered: Diffractive Optical Elements; Encoded phase plates;
Refractive micro lenses; Micro Optical Benches.
Integrated planar components: Taking advantage of its I3O®
technology, SILIOS develops and provides a new generation of
optical components for telecom, datacom and sensors such as:
splitters, passive hybrid platforms, customised waveguide
functions, mode converters.
Technologies:
I3O® (Ion Implanted Integrated Optics): a patented technology
that enables the manufacturing of Planar Lightwave Circuits
(PLC).
Free space optics: It takes advantage of the wellestablished
microelectronics technologies (photolithography, etching, layer
deposition) to process high-tech free space optical components.
