Major references:
BIC Lazio holds five
incubators in the region and
in 2006 set up ITech, the
incubator for the promotion
and creation of new
enterprises engaged in high
tech activities. It is located in
Tecnopolo Tiburtino of Rome,
in cooperation with the
company of Polo Tecnologico
Industriale Romano. The
incubator provides integrated
and detailed services of preincubation
and incubation,
able to turn ideas, research
projects and experiences from
productive system into new
business. The process of
business support is divided in
four phases: scouting of new
business innovative ideas;
selection; pre-incubation
assistance; incubation.
At the moment, the
programme ITech Spazio is
active and founds itself on an
Agreement between BIC Lazio
and ESA (European Space
Agency), aimed to the
identification of ESA’s skills
and competences which offer
a potential industrial
exploitation for no space
application and to the
definition of the tools for the
transfer of those
competencies.

Presentation of the Company:
BIC Lazio, founded in 1990 by the Latium Region with
Regional Law 35/90, is the regional network agency
responsible for encouraging local development through the
promotion of an entrepreneurial culture and support the
creation and development of business initiatives.
Key Products and Services
BIC Lazio belongs to the European BIC Network (EBN) and
the European Association of Development Agencies
(EURADA). Since 2003 it hosts the Euro Information
Centre IT 389. BIC Lazio activities include:
- promotion of entrepreneurial culture;
- support to local actors in choosing development
strategies to enhance local resources and in taking part in
European Programmes;
- support for enterprise creation;
- assistance to SMEs in pinpointing development
opportunities;
economic exploitation of research findings (spin-offs from
academic and research work) in collaboration with
Universities and Research centres.
