Central Laboratory of Geodesy of the
Bulgarian Academy of Sciences
Presentation of the Company:
Central Laboratory of Geodesy (CLG) is a scientific
center on geodesy and surveying. It is a basic unit in the
group of institutes of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS)
having as an object of investigation the Earth as a planet
and its physical fields. The scientists of CLG perform
scientific investigations in the field of space geodesy,
geodetic astronomy, physical and mathematical geodesy,
estimation theory and statistics, global, regional and local
geodynamics.
The basic scientific priorities of CLG are:
− participation in the international scientific
collaboration for studying the shape and sizes of
the Earth as a planet, its orientation in space and
its external gravity field;
− performing scientific research related to the
implementing, updating and using the national
reference and coordinate systems as a part of the
European and world systems;
− determination of contemporary movements of
the Earth's crust, dynamics of the level and
topography of the Black Sea;
− Development and adapting of mathematical
models for processing and analysis of classical
and satellite observations.
