Remote Sensing:
- Sensor systems;
Our products are client defined and can be composed of several
engineering solutions and systems integration. Products are
backed-up by support services ranging from engineering and
technical support to integrated logistics and customer support.
SERVICES
Electronics:
- Payload Design;
- Satellite Communication (via Inmarsat D+);
Remote Sensing:
UAVision collects remote sensing information by
integrating different technologies in the areas of
aeronautics, electronics and image processing.
The services made available by UAVision for application
in Precision Farming, Environment Monitoring and Forest
Management, include Aerial Digital Photography (visible
and near infra-red bands) and soil property and canopy
mapping from geo-referenced data collected by proximal
remote sensors.
• Aerial sensors
Our aerial platforms use multi-spectral sensors on board
to obtain aerial images of the terrain. The photographs
are later processed to obtain a final product which is
corrected and geo-referenced. The information collected
on the spatial variability of the biomass is made available
as false colour images or vegetation index maps such as
NDVI (Normalised Difference Vegetation Index) maps.
With the certification of the SUAV (Small Unmanned
Aerial Vehicle) platform developed by UAVision, these
remote sensing services will be carried out by using the
SUAV aircraft. A substantial reduction on the cost of
obtaining the remote information and a greater flexibility
in mission planning is therefore expected.
• Ground sensors
For acquisition of information on the soil physical and
chemical properties and its spatial variability, UAVision
uses proximal remote sensors mounted on ground
platforms:
- Apparent electrical conductivity
Soil apparent electrical conductivity data and
respective positioning information are obtained
by associating information from an
electromagnetic induction sensor and a
differential GPS (DGPS). The system is mounted
on a vehicle developed by UAVision and pushed
by a tractor or quad-bike. As a final product,
UAVision delivers high resolution maps of soil
electrical properties that are related to the soil
salinity, the amount of clay and water, and the
