Presentation of the Company:<br />

� HIDROMOD, Modelação em Engenharia, Lda., is a<br />

Portuguese technical consulting company which develops and<br />

applies technical software in engineering and scientific areas<br />

related to fluid mechanics.<br />

� HIDROMOD was created in 1992 having as main objectives to<br />

contribute to an effective technology transfer from the<br />

University to the market taking advantage of the high qualified<br />

human resources as they finished their post graduation studies.<br />

This close collaboration with the University is supported by the<br />

terms of a protocol established with the Instituto Superior<br />

Técnico (Lisbon Technical University) trough its marine<br />

technology investigation centre (MARETEC).<br />

� During a 16 years of existence, HIDROMOD accumulated an<br />

important experience in what concerns the analysis and<br />

modeling of processes related with wave climate, sediment<br />

transport by the combined action of waves and currents, water<br />

quality, oil spills and related emergency plans, Information<br />

Tchnologies, etc.<br />

� Presently HIDROMOD is preparing the future. As it maintains<br />

high technological and scientific standards, HIDROMOD is also<br />

preparing an enlargement process trough the integration of new<br />

people and investing in new knowledge areas. HIDROMOD is<br />

also moving in the direction of offering more operational<br />

services and help its clients to manage information by means of<br />

providing user fitted data analysis tools.<br />
