Presentation of the Company:
Flyby is an indipendent Italian SME Company, devoted to
applied research and innovative technology development in
applied optics. Flyby develops and commercialize products
and services related to enviromental remote sensing,
integrated optical monitoring systems and renewable
energy management systems.
Interdisciplinary background and experience in
different fields allows Flyby to face complex applied
research challenges and innovative operational
services integrating web services, optical integrated
systems, telecommunication links, in-situ sensor
networks management and navigation data.
The company is involved in different projects funded by the
Italian Space Agency (ASI) and European Space Agency
(ESA) related to remote sensing services mainly in the fields of
marine and coastal environments and solar radiation analysis
applications, exploiting multispectral satellite imaging sensors

The main technologies with a competitive advantage
owned by the Company are:
a) HappySun (registered trade mark) : EO satellite
based UV solar photoprotection system
The system delivers UV safe exposure personal
information exploiting a web and mobile phone user
interface that is cheaper, more accurate and easier to
use of personal UV radiometers.
b) SolarSAT (registered trade mark) : EO based
photovoltaic solar energy plant efficiency control
system
The system (service) is able to evaluate the efficiency
of the energy production of solar PV plants, without
need of in-situ sensors. It is cheaper and does not
need of maintenance and is best suited for small PV
plants and quality assurance of large size PV plants.
c) Remote senssing for water monitoring capabilities
(water quality, optical oil spill detction, bathymetry
assessment,..)
d) SpectrAIR : a portable spectroradiometer for
atmosphere analysis based on solar
radiation spectral analysis
