Presentation of the Company: TRANSVALOR, subsidiary of Armines, has been created in 1984 to transfer and value into the industry the research results of the Ecoles des Mines laboratories. Transvalor is leader in Europe in the forging simulation and does 65% of its activity outside France – we are 30 people, doing software development and industrialisation, pre and post processors, sales, marketing and management of an international network of resellers/agents. Employees of Transvalor software department, mainly Ph.D. holders from the Mines ParisTech, work regularly in close collaboration with the CEMEF ( a Material Processing Research Center with 100+ staff which is a joint research centre of the Mines ParisTech and Armines), which backs the development of Transvalor software, thus ensuring its evolution and stability in time. Transvalor has a special relationship with research and development, be it academic or industrial, both in the material and the numerical computation fields. Numerous research centres, both private and academic, use our software for project evaluation and to explore new solutions to their problems. Key Products and Services Transvalor markets mainly a 3D finite element software simulation package, FORGE. This software simulates the metal hot and cold forging processes and many material forming processes. This software leads the market and is becoming the reference in its category. TRANSVALOR has approached the plastics market, with its REM3D software for the simulation of real 3D injection molding. The company also develops and markets Thercast, a software for metal casting simulation. Finally, from 2006, a threedimensional numerical software for modelling of welding processes, TRANSWELD. Besides this software activity, Transvalor is sheltering editing activities, publishing books written by researchers of Ecoles des Mines. Transvalor was selected to edit the <strong>European</strong> Solar Radiation Atlas for the <strong>European</strong> Commission, published in 2000 in the form of books and CD-ROMs. Since then, Transvalor has been working closely with the CEP ( a research centre of the Mines ParisTech and Armines), for the sales of data and other information relating to solar and wind energy. Transvalor is managing the administrative, financial and legal issues for the SoDa Service as well as DataForWind.
