Key Products and Services<br />

All products are based upon the Microflown, a MEMS based<br />

sensor that uses the temperature difference in the cross<br />

section of two extremely thin heated (platinum) wires.<br />

Major application is the measurement of the acoustic<br />

particle velocity, the complementary dimension to describe<br />

a sound field next to sound pressure.<br />

Close to a vibrating surface, the particle velocity is a direct<br />

measure for the normal structural velocity, that can be<br />

measured non contact now.<br />

The range 1 and 3 D sound probes can be used for both<br />

acoustic near and acoustic far field measurements, and<br />

allow unprecendented insights to be gained for sound<br />

source localization and ranking.<br />

Both vibrations and sound radiations can be measured now<br />

simultaneously in a non contact manner, eg during a launch.<br />

On site testing services are provided as well, as the array<br />

measurement techniques are portable.<br />

The Microflown sensor platform can also be used to<br />

measure temperature, mass flow, vibration, acceleration<br />

Clean room research is carried out for the further<br />

development of the sensor platform.<br />
