Perform the following steps to configure System D.<br />

1. Install <strong>WebSphere</strong> <strong>Application</strong> <strong>Server</strong> <strong>V7.0</strong>.<br />

2. Create an application server profile using the profile template<br />

/profileTemplates/dmgr template, or use the<br />

/profileTemplates/management template and specify<br />

-serverType as DEPLOYMENT_MANAGER<br />

3. Create a Web server definition through the Integrated Solutions Console or<br />

through the wsadmin scripting interface.<br />

4. Create a <strong>WebSphere</strong> <strong>Application</strong> <strong>Server</strong> cluster with one cluster member on<br />

System B and one cluster member on System C.<br />

Horizontal scaling topology with an IP sprayer<br />

Load balancing products can be used to distribute HTTP requests among Web<br />

servers running on multiple physical machines. The Load Balancer component of<br />

Network Dispatcher, for example, is an IP sprayer that performs intelligent load<br />

balancing among Web servers based on server availability and workload.<br />

Figure 5-5 on page 151 illustrates a horizontal scaling configuration that uses an<br />

IP sprayer to redistribute requests between Web servers on multiple machines.<br />
