Installation and configuration: Edge Proxy<br />

The following sections indicate the minimum software configuration that you need<br />

for the topology shown in Figure 5-6 on page 154.<br />

System A<br />

Perform the following steps to configure System A.<br />

a. Install <strong>WebSphere</strong> Edge components.<br />

b. Configure the required proxy directives in ibmproxy.conf.<br />

System B<br />

Perform the following steps to configure System B.<br />

a. Install and configure a supported Web server.<br />

b. Install and configure the <strong>WebSphere</strong> <strong>Application</strong> <strong>Server</strong> plug-in for the<br />

Web server <strong>WebSphere</strong> <strong>Application</strong> <strong>Server</strong> (Express, Base, or Network<br />

Deployment).<br />

c. Create an application server profile.<br />

d. Install <strong>WebSphere</strong> <strong>Application</strong> <strong>Server</strong> <strong>V7.0</strong>.<br />

e. Create an application server profile using the<br />

/profileTemplates/default profile template .<br />

f. Create an Web server definition through the Integrated Solutions Console<br />

or through the wsadmin scripting interface.<br />

Installation and configuration: DMZ secure proxy<br />

When you plan to use the DMZ secure proxy instead of the Edge Proxy you must<br />

be aware that you need <strong>WebSphere</strong> <strong>Application</strong> <strong>Server</strong> Network Deployment.<br />

The DMZ secure proxy is not supported when using the base version of<br />

<strong>WebSphere</strong> <strong>Application</strong> <strong>Server</strong>. Therefore, the topology will slightly change and<br />

look similar to the illustration as shown in Figure 5-7 on page 157.<br />
