Everything needed to run the application is built in, including the HTTP stack, – It is designed around Dynamic Scripting, REST, Rich Web Interfaces, AJAX, and Feeds corresponding to Web 2.0 concepts. – Application logic is created in one of two scripting languages: Groovy, for people that prefer Java. PHP for existing PHP programmers. The PHP runtime is provided directly in the WebSphere sMash. – It empowers developers to build applications directly on the Web with a Web interface, and compose applications by wiring together REST services.
