Keystore password is WebAS Allows you to enter a unique password for the<br />

TCP/IP ports will default to a set of ports not used by<br />

any profiles in this <strong>WebSphere</strong> installation instance.<br />

(Windows) The application server is run as a service<br />

using a local system account and startup type<br />

<strong>Application</strong> server profile options (Express <strong>V7.0</strong>)<br />

Table 6-6 shows a summary of the options available when creating a profile for<br />

an application server in <strong>WebSphere</strong> <strong>Application</strong> <strong>Server</strong> Express <strong>V7.0</strong>. The<br />

options depend on whether you take the typical or advanced path through the<br />

Profile Management Tool.<br />

You can use the recommended ports (unique to<br />

the installation), use the basic defaults, or select<br />

port numbers manually.<br />

(Windows) You can choose whether the<br />

application server will run as a service, under<br />

which account the service runs and what startup<br />

type is used<br />

(Linux) You can create a Linux service and<br />

specify the user name from which the service<br />

runs.<br />

Does not create a Web server definition. Enables you to define an external Web server to<br />

the configuration.<br />

Typical settings Advanced options<br />

The administrative console and default application<br />

are deployed by default. The sample applications are<br />

not deployed.<br />

The profile name is AppSrvxx by default, where xx is<br />

01 for the first application server profile and<br />

increments for each one created. The profile is stored<br />

in /profiles/AppSrvxx.<br />

The application server is built using the default<br />

application server template.<br />

The node name is Nodexx.<br />

The server name is server1.<br />

The host name defaults to your system’s DNS host<br />

name.<br />

You have the option to deploy the administrative<br />

console (recommended and preselected), the<br />

default application (preselected), and the sample<br />

applications (if installed).<br />

You can specify profile name and its location.<br />

You can choose the default template, or a<br />

development template that is optimized for<br />

development purposes.<br />

You can specify the node name, server name and<br />

host name.<br />
