Installation and configuration<br />

The following sections indicate the minimum software configuration that you need<br />

for the topology shown in Figure 5-5 on page 151:<br />

System A and System B<br />

Perform the following steps to configure System A and System B.<br />

1. Install <strong>WebSphere</strong> Edge components Load Balancer.<br />

2. Configure the Load Balancer component according to your network topology.<br />

3. Install and configure a supported Web server.<br />

4. Install and configure the <strong>WebSphere</strong> <strong>Application</strong> <strong>Server</strong> Plug-in for the Web<br />

server.<br />

System C and System D<br />

Perform the following steps to configure System C and System D.<br />

1. Install <strong>WebSphere</strong> <strong>Application</strong> <strong>Server</strong> <strong>V7.0</strong>.<br />

2. Create an application server profile using the<br />

/profileTemplates/managed profile template and federate<br />

this profile to the deployment manager on system E either during profile<br />

creation or by running the addNode command after the profile creation.<br />

Alternatively you can create an application server profile using the<br />

/profileTemplates/default profile template and federate the<br />

node to the deployment manager running on System E by using the addNode<br />

command.<br />

System E<br />

Perform the following steps to configure System E.<br />

1. Install <strong>WebSphere</strong> <strong>Application</strong> <strong>Server</strong> <strong>V7.0</strong>.<br />

2. Create an application server profile using the profile template<br />

/profileTemplates/dmgr template or use the<br />

/profileTemplates/management template and specify<br />

-serverType as DEPLOYMENT_MANAGER.<br />

3. Create the Web server definitions through the Integrated Solutions Console or<br />

through the wsadmin scripting interface.<br />

4. Create a <strong>WebSphere</strong> <strong>Application</strong> <strong>Server</strong> cluster using the Integrated<br />

Solutions Console or wsadmin with one cluster member on System C and one<br />

cluster member on System D.<br />
